Indoor Archery - 2004 An Indoor Archery activity was held Saturday, May 1, at Archery USA, in Dedham, MA. After arriving, the staff carefully went over the range safety procedures. We were each tested to see which of our eyes was the "dominant" one, as this determined whether we would shoot "righty" or "lefty". (This resulted in some concern for an unnamed ASM, who found himself shooting "lefty" for the first time. And he did quite well, too!) We were then issued our equipment, and the shooting proceeded. We would shoot as a group, each of us shooting a "flight" of three arrows. When everyone had finished, the instructor would allow us on the range to retrieve our arrows. Then the process was repeated. There were around 15-20 or so flights, culminating in a balloon popping competition, where the the instructor put a balloon on each archer's target. Prizes (candy bars and $$) were given out for various categories. |
