Our Medfield Day Booth Troop 10 has a booth at the annual Medfield Day celebration, as a means of promoting both the troop and Boy Scouts. The booth is usually located on Baker Street, near the intersection of North Street, against the metal railing surrounding the pond. In 2003, we won the "Most Artistic Booth" award! This year (2004) the booth was designed and test-constructed on the Lueders' property. On Medfield Day, it was transported by truck to its display location on Baker Street and re-assembled. Because of repeated weather postponements, Medfield Day this year ended up taking place on the same weekend as our planned Thompson Island Trip. Since most of the Scouts had already signed up for the trip, the booth was used for "pre-pre-sales" for our Holiday Wreath & Greenery fund-raiser, instead of its usual "kids game" theme. This turned out to be very successful and will likely be repeated next year. Adult leaders and Scouts who did not attend the trip, manned the booth. |
